Marcy Cox
Attorney

I am a small-town Missouri native who migrated south to accept a scholarship to attend the University of Tulsa School of Law. While there, I fell in love with the community and culture, which inspired me to pursue a career in public service.
For over 11 years after law school, I ran a program sponsored by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma that provided free mediation services to Oklahoma residents throughout the state. I served as a mediator, and trained and managed volunteers in mediating disputes in complex civil matters, child custody, divorces, guardianships, evictions, and all other types of civil disputes.
My experience managing this mediation program helped me develop a broad range of skills, and awareness of the needs of others. It is important to me that individuals are heard and understood. My listening skills are vital to diffuse conflicts, and the skills I obtained as a mediator are necessary to be able to see all points of view on an issue. I strive to help my clients understand these varying viewpoints and their options, with an eye to resolving their dispute prior to a contentious court battle if possible.
In 2024, I made the difficult decision to leave public service in Oklahoma and move to Springfield to be closer to my family. I am happy I found Jenni Hargis Law and join Jenni Hargis in her philosophy of caring about our clients and striving to ease their burdens in navigating the legal process.
