Jenni Hargis

Founder/Attorney

After practicing law for 20 years, I started Jenni Hargis Law in 2023 to provide my clients with a unique and caring experience, and with the goal of helping as many people as possible find peace, empowerment, and healing. My firm provides creative approaches to difficult problems, and I love serving as educator, counselor, and advocate for my clients.

I grew up in a family of teachers, ministers, and counselors here in the Ozarks. After graduating from Missouri State University with a degree in History and Library Science, I worked at the university library until deciding to go to law school in my late twenties. I was inspired by two separate events: I was hurt in an accident and had to hire a lawyer, and I took a pre-law class at MSU that captivated me. I moved to St. Louis to attend Washington University School of Law, where I graduated in the top 25% of my class in 2003.

After passing the bar exam, I practiced law in St. Louis both at a mid-sized litigation firm and as in-house counsel for a national construction company, then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to practice at a big 400-lawyer firm.

In late 2013, my husband Darin and I moved home to Springfield to be close to our families. I practiced at a regional law firm, then a local boutique firm, before starting Jenni Hargis Law. The first fifteen years of my career was focused on litigation and dispute resolution, and more recently I’ve discovered a special satisfaction in helping people deal with the difficulties of death and old age.
